I activated Joomla SEF, & sh404SEF®. Set sh404SEF® to work with a .htaccess file, and I have renamed htaccess.txt to .htaccess, but I still get only 404 : Page not found errors
The .htaccess file provided with Joomla 1.0.x is designed to work with Joomla SEF URL (mysite.com/content/task,view/12/34). To have it work with any 3rd party SEF component, you must make some changes to its content. The changes are outlined within the file itself, and with more details in the documentation section of our site. Please note that this does not apply for Joomla 1.5.x, which comes with a htaccess file suitable for use with both Joomla own sef system and 3rd-partye SEF url extensions such as sh404sef
