The JCal Pro® 2 installation was on a different site with a different database. This procedure is brief and is inteneded for advanced users, please back up your site(s) completely before attempting the migration.
In order for the migration script to be activated, there must be no dat in the new JCal Pro® 3 installation, in fact it is best to start without ever having installed JCal Pro® 3 on the Joomla 2.5 site.
Step 1 - Back Up your sites
This procedure is advanced users, please start by backing up both sites including the databases. This procedure requires some knowledge of using database tools such as phpMyAdmin.
Step 2 - Update your current version of JCal Pro® 2
On the Joomla 1.5 Site upgrade to the latest version of JCal Pro® 2 as per the instructions in the JCal Pro® 2 User Manual
After upgrading test as you normally would to ensure JCal Pro® 2 and the site as functioning normally.
Step 3 - Copy required Database Tables
Export the following tables from the Joomla 1.5 site and import them into the Joomla 2.5 site's database.
where # is the prefix of your joomla 2.5 site database
Step 3 - Migrate
- Install Jcal Pro 3 as per Using the Jcal Pro 3 Combined Installer
- Select the Migrate Function
- If JCal Pro® 3 is already installed without having items in the database the migration can be performed from the JCal Pro® 3 'About' screen
