Redirect one sef url to another

i am trying to redirect one sef URL to another (i want http://www.test-guide.com/use-a-cdl-pra … epare.html to redirect to: http://www.test-guide.com/free-cdl-practice-tests.html).

I have entered the alias free-cdl-practice-tests.html in the URL manager for http://www.test-guide.com/use-a-cdl-pra … epare.html, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there no way to do this in sh404sef?

Hello dmester,

First I`d suggest you to update your sh404sef version, as for what you`re trying to do, first you need to make sure that the sef url you want to redirect is not anymore present in "URL manager". Otherwise you can redirect an existing sef urls to another sef url

thanks for the reminder about upgrading. as far as the redirects... please be more specific. Should I delete the URL that I want to be redirected from the URL manager? Then what do I do...do I then put an alias in for the other URL?

The question is: I have two SEF URLs. How do I redirect one to the other.

Hello dmester,

Let`s say you have: SEF-url1 and SEF-url2 if you want to redirect SEF-url1 to SEF-url2, you need to go to "URL manager" and delete SEF-url1 from there. But you also need to make sure the corresponding non-sef url for SEF-url1 is not present anymore on your website content, because if it is it will be recreated back.

After you made sure of those, then you go to "URL manager" and put the SEF-url1 in the "Alias" tab of SEF-url2
