JCalPro Facebook Events Integration

JCalPro Facebook Events Integration

I'm attempting to use the JCalPro Import tools to automatically import a Facebook page's events. There are three issues however, and I am hoping to find out if they can be resolved on JCal's side, or if they are issues/limitations with Facebook's API.

1. Using the JCal import tool and the Facebook export events URL, you can only import a Facebook user's events, not a Facebook page's events. There are Joomla extensions that can pull a Facebook page's events based off it's page ID. Is there some way JCal can import a Facebook page's events instead of a user's export events URL?

2. Importing a Facebook event creates an event in JCal that is 3 hours later than the event in Facebook. Is this a JCal bug or a Facebook bug?

3. Using the import tools, JCal does not automatically detect new Facebook events. So each time a new event is created, you have to import the event in the JCal backend. Is there some way JCal can automatically add new Facebook events?

Your answers and/or solutions are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

JCalPro simply imports the iCal file you give it, it should not matter what the source

I suspect that the timezone of the facebook user does not match that of Joomla/JCal Pro. JCal Pro can be sensitive to mismatched joomla server time (Global Configuration - Server ) and JCal Pro time (Settings - Environment). Maybe you need to change these by 3 hours to make the calendars match (or maybe it is a facebook profile issue)

This is on the to do list for future versions of JCal Pro 3 for J1.7+ but not a feature of JCal Pro 2 for J1.5

I hope this answers your questions
