JCal Pro® is moving to a new home

Today we announce with mixed emotions that our very first extension — JCal Pro® — is moving to a new home at JoomlaShack (formerly Alledia).

JCal Pro® started as a pet project by owner Victor Drover to maintain a private collection of bug fixes for the Mambo extension ExtCal.

Eventually, ExtCalendar was forked to JCal Pro® in 2006 and distributed for free.

In 2007, JCal Pro® began charging for downloads and support as one of the first paid, GPL-compliant extensions in the Joomla add-on ecosystem. The shift to commercializing Joomla add-ons marked the start of big changes for Victor who went on to retire from his career as a professor in academic science to focus on Joomla full-time.

Anything Digital expanded, hired a small team of Joomla professionals, and eventually founded Watchful, a web site management dashboard, and TreeFlame, a web development agency.

Victor has decided to focus more of his time on Watchful and TreeFlame, and thus the move away from extension development.

And while the decision was a difficult one, we are extremely proud that JoomlaShack has stepped forward with such positivity and energy. We are confident that Steve Burge and the rest of the team at JoomlaShack will take JCal Pro® to even greater heights.

What about existing subscribers

For now, nothing will change. In the coming weeks, existing subscribers will be moved to Alledia.

Can I still buy JCal Pro® and get support?

JCal Pro® can now be purchased at JoomlaShack. Their famous support can be accessed via email at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
