Today we announce with mixed emotions that our very first extension — JCal Pro® — is moving to a new home at JoomlaShack (formerly Alledia).
JCal Pro® started as a pet project by owner Victor Drover to maintain a private collection of bug fixes for the Mambo extension ExtCal.
Eventually, ExtCalendar was forked to JCal Pro® in 2006 and distributed for free.
In 2007, JCal Pro® began charging for downloads and support as one of the first paid, GPL-compliant extensions in the Joomla add-on ecosystem. The shift to commercializing Joomla add-ons marked the start of big changes for Victor who went on to retire from his career as a professor in academic science to focus on Joomla full-time.
Victor has decided to focus more of his time on Watchful and TreeFlame, and thus the move away from extension development.
And while the decision was a difficult one, we are extremely proud that JoomlaShack has stepped forward with such positivity and energy. We are confident that Steve Burge and the rest of the team at JoomlaShack will take JCal Pro® to even greater heights.
What about existing subscribers
For now, nothing will change. In the coming weeks, existing subscribers will be moved to Alledia.
Can I still buy JCal Pro® and get support?
Today we announce that developement and sales of Advanced Search has been discontinued indefintiely.
Unfortunately, demand for this product has not been strong enough to continue development.
Existing subscribers may continue to download the latest version as needed until their subscriptions expire.
For a1 number of years, Anything Digital has been the primary point of sales, distribution and support for sh404SEF® and more recently, Josetta®.
Starting today, sh404SEF® and Josetta® will be distributed, supported and sold by the original software developer at https://weeblr.com/.

Why does loading time matter?
It's simple. Speed kills — in a good way. Your bounce rate, conversions — heck, even your site's SEO performance changes for the better once your load times decrease. Take a look at this detailed graph that illustrates how conversions drop drastically with slower sites:
Last week we looked at how JCal Pro® 3 has integrated Twitter Bootstrap through Joomla 3 in order to provide a responsive, mobile first experience.
In this second post of the series on JCal Pro® 3 - the Joomla Calendar - we perform a detailed examination of an important administrative feature, configuring email notifications, and how this relates to managing registrations.
Make sure to read to the end for some great pointers on how notification emails can supercharge your marketing efforts.
